Job Description

New York City based media giant is seeking a Director or Consumer Analytics to join their Analytics & Research group.  The Director will work closely with sales teams to leverage the latest ad effectiveness and ROI solutions to measure the impact of media programs.  The Director will also have the opportunity to lead cutting edge projects, deliver presentations and play a critical role in helping marketers understand how their brand and sales were affected by media programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage syndicated and custom ROI/ad effectiveness research methods to highlight the marketer value of advertising/sponsorships

  • Partner with Ad Sales and Marketing in the production of upfront materials and research projects for key advertising partners and agencies

  • Work closely with Ad Sales, Marketing and Pricing/Finance

  • Manage, mentor and train Research Managers and Analysts

  • Combine consumer trends, advertiser data and product specific solutions to develop collateral that supports the company’s position as a leader in online advertising research.

  • Identify and investigate new media measurement models, data sources, and research partners.

  • Work closely with marketing teams to brand research offerings and produce case studies showcasing best practices.

  • See the big picture and provide constant, clear communication of objectives, status, tactics and articulate results to all stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5-10 years relevant work experience in research, ideally in large advertising/media/digital agencies or media companies

  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and keep ahead of industry trends.

  • Experience analyzing the ROI of media initiatives - particularly using advanced data matching techniques and methodologies

  • Deep knowledge of online syndicated research tools such as comScore, Nielsen and Kantar Stradegy/Evaliant

  • Deep experience with standard online advertising research and analytics solutions, including ad server reporting, Dynamic Logic solutions, etc.

  • Expertise supporting advertising agencies and sales/business development teams with consumer insight initiatives

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of primary research principles and methodologies, including statistical techniques

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to motivate high-performing teams

  • Thought leader with track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions

  • Demonstrable persistence and resilience at accomplishing difficult tasks, plus proven ability to learn from failures

  • Ability and willingness to roll up the sleeves and get things done

  • BA/BS in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, accounting, economics, business)

  • Relevant higher degrees such as an MBA from a leading school are advantageous but not a requirement
