Job Description

Candidate will have broad knowledge/experience in the core technologies used to render web sites and web application User Interfaces including HTML/XHTML, Javascript, and Cascading Stylesheets.  Additionally he/she will have a strong understanding of the server side technologies often used to generate the markup that is delivered to a User Agent (browser), for example Struts/Tiles, Spring,  JSP, ASP, etc.  Candidate will also be involved in implementing coding best practices so that web sites and web pages are produced using Semantic markup that is Accessible and Performant and follows a strategy of Progressive Enhancements so as to make the site/application available to the largest audience of user agents (ie: browsers, screen readers etc) through the incorporation of cascading stylesheets for site theming and scripting to manipulate the DOM.

Required Experience:

FET candidate should have 3+ years of hands-on experience in the design and programming of Enterprise scale web application User Interfaces as well as experience in collaborating with Planning, Design/User Experience and Technical teams.

The candidate should have experience developing semantic markup which adheres to W3C standards and best practices.  The candidate should have experience developing markup with a strategy of Progressive Enhancement or Graceful Degradation with the ultimate goal of delivering an enhanced experience to the majority of users while still providing minimal functionality to users who are unable to take advantage of the enhanced capabilities.

Understanding and interpreting design specifications is very important and the candidate should have experience implementing HTML/XHTML mockups and prototypes from wireframe documents and graphic design comps.

The candidate should have experience working well within a distributed team environment as well as independently.
