Job Description

Our client, an advertising agency, is seeking an exceptional (freelance to full-time) UX Designer who is passionate about the latest trends in interactive experiences across a variety of mediums (web, iPhone, iPad, social networking, mobile, kiosk) with a strong desire for innovation. They are looking for someone with a passion for creating authentic, insight driven experiences that engage users. Responsibilities will include Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Content Strategy and User Research.

This role requires someone who is extremely user centric and who will successfully function as an advocate for their users and members. You will have the opportunity to lead digital product development and work amongst world-class talent on a wide range of unique interactive projects, which include iPhone Apps, mobile sites, social networking, web and self-service kiosks.

Take a leadership role in developing the information architecture and interaction principles of rich and complex interactive experiences for various platforms and channels (web, iPhone, iPad, mobile, social networking, kiosk).

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Play a leadership role in the development of the long-term vision for the client's digital products based strategic opportunity, market trends and corporate direction.
  • Lead user research to garner a deeper understanding of the target users' needs, tasks, and goals.
  • Develop detailed interaction, visual design and wireframe specifications that incorporate all technical, editorial, and usability specifications for new products, websites, mobile apps and kiosks.
  • Work closely with development teams, marketing, business operations and visual designers to translate high level business requirements into detailed user experience designs.
  • Be an advocate for the end-user.
  • Use a persona-driven approach to developing design rationale. Articulate UX concepts and solutions through scenarios and visualizations.
  • Insure the application of UX/UI standards and processes including user feedback and testing through design and development.
  • Participate in user research and usability testing when needed or appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the process of designing complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies and metadata frameworks.
  • Demonstrated process and ability to develop big ideas, and execute against them in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing user Experience Architectures (comprised of wireframes, sitemaps, user interaction scenarios, and prototypes) for multi-channel applications.
  • Demonstrated experience working with web, iPhone, mobile, kiosk, email, hand held devices.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting user research and translating user research into design rationale.
  • 7+ years experience as one or multiple of the following: Information Architect, Content Strategist, Interaction Designer, or Experience Designer.
  • Master's degree in a related field, such as Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or similar field related to Human-Computer Interaction.
  • A portfolio of user process flows, site maps and wireframes.
  • Passionate about latest trends and best practices in interactive experiences across a variety of mediums with a strong desire for innovation.
  • Exceptional proficiency in a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Visio, Omnigraffle, Axure, and Adobe Create Suite.
  • Experience with design software packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and flash/flex a plus.
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, written, problem solving, oral and diagrammatic communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-managing and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines and multiple projects in parallel
