Job Description

The Manager in the Customer Insight Group (CIG) will be responsible for providing analytical support for the Client Service Team, and will increasingly be expected to deliver data-driven strategic marketing insights to the client. The Manager will be assigned to support clients, and will partner with another CIG Team Member to serve the clients. The Manager will develop expertise in SQL, SAS, and/or SPSS to manipulate and analyze attitudinal and behavioral data in order to help achieve the clients' marketing objectives. This person will also be expected to think beyond the data, bridging the gap to the strategic implications. The Manager will be expected to generate new ideas for the clients, and to partner closely with the Client Service Team to sell and deliver those ideas. 

Core Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work with Account Directors to translate proposals/service agreement into analytic work plans
  • Identify new ideas and opportunities for analytic projects
  • Perform hands-on analysis of large volumes of transaction and customer level data. Work with complex data structure, manipulate, cleanse data and perform statistical analysis
  • Learn and deliver online customer analyses, such as: Customer Segmentation, Retention Analysis, Lifetime Value Analysis, Advertising Research, Brand Research, Site Utilization
  • Plan, execute, and analyze online surveys using survey technologies such as Dynamic Logic, Insight Express, & Factor TG
  • Participate and support in delivering results and presentations to clients
  • Manage client relationships and accounts within the context of the Customer Insight Group
  • Participate in national CIG practice groups to develop and promote analytic expertise.

Requirements

 
  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative social sciences preferred. The equivalent combination of education, training and work experience may be suitable.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a business environment.
  • Hands-on practitioner of multivariate statistical analysis (regression and simple segmentation)
  • Ability to query/join/transform data in a relational database
  • Ability to interpret data and analysis results to generate insights
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas to primary client contacts, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with a site reporting tools including Webtrends, Omniture, Coremetrics,WebSideStory, and/or Visual Science.
  • Experience cleansing, manipulating, and transforming data
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel
  • Experience in creating presentations using PowerPoint is also a requirement
  • Experience working with online survey vendors such as Factor TG or Dynamic Logic is a plus
  • Experience in Cookie Level Data using Atlas/DoubleClick a HUGE plus
