Job Description

Web Marketing Specialist

Role is responsible for overseeing or supporting internet marketing and quality assurance activities for the E-Commerce marketing group. They will assist the E-Commerce Director or
designated e-Commerce manager in this role and currently will report to the E-Commerce Director. They will have day-to-day responsibilities in researching, analyzing, reporting and executing on various supporting actions for search engine, affiliate and other online marketing programs as well as serve as a quality assurance resource.

Search Engine Marketing/Comparison
Shopping Engines support

Responsibilities
include:

  • Day to day management of comparison shopping engines, executing on provided strategy by utilizing reporting and management mechanisms supplied by a 3rd party technology partner
  • Basic research and analysis in order to recommend and implement bidding adjustments, recommend and adjust datafeed filters, and implement product focus areas based on business goals as part of campaign optimization of shopping
    engines
  • Analysis of data to find trends and make recommendations for product or campaign
    optimization
  • Identify, recommend and/or execute feed/product copy optimization to suit shopping engines and external marketplaces (e.g. Amazon) to enhance relevance for customer searches and conversion
  • Basic reporting and competitive analysis as appropriate to enhance strategy
    decisions
  • Monitor comparison shopping websites to help ensure maximum exposure for key products
  • Tracking code administration/maintenance as needed for search engine and other linking campaigns
  • Link building for web sites SEO purposes
  • Assist in SEO results monitoring
  • Other Search Engine Marketing support as needed for PPC/CPC campaigns including acting as a liaison and support for our external PPC agency
  • Assisting Customer Experience Manager in identifying and/or modifying on site search (powered by Endeca) tools to tune thesaurus and/or similar tools that help
    display relevant results
  • Utilize on site search data as applicable in making recommendations for external
    campaign optimization

Affiliate Marketing
Support

Responsibilities
include:

  • Month end review of affiliate orders for commission adjustment
  • Determine and provision link adds/updates and other “creatives” as needed for affiliate program support

Online Marketing
Support

Responsibilities
include:

  • Assist with or lead in the definition/development of the on site marketing calendar for web sites
  • Participate in or lead concept creation, campaign execution and monitoring of the on site marketing calendars
  • Maintain directory or profile listings as needed for various web sites
  • Develop or assist with Test and Target campaigns (multi-variant testing and segment targeting) to facilitate web site conversion improvements
  • Assist in the planning, project management, configuration or optimization of future
    dynamic merchandising implementations
  • Participate or lead in other assigned tasks related to online marketing, social media or other engagement marketing
  • Assist or serve as a liaison to our Affiliate program managers
  • Support web site product promotion administration process
  • Other support duties as assigned related to online or social media marketing

Quality Assurance
Support

Responsibilities
include:

  • Offer QA support to the E-Commerce Marketing and Customer Experience areas as needed for the review of email campaigns, social media campaigns, web site testing or other testing duties as assigned

Requirements


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous online marketing experience
  • Experience or understanding of comparison shopping engines (Nextag, Shopzilla etc.)
  • We’re B2B. Experience in a B2C online business is welcome.
  • Understanding of and experience using web analytics and/or campaign optimization technologies. SiteCatalyst experience is a plus.
  • Experience in PPC and optimizing campaigns
  • Familiarity with other online marketing channels (email, affiliate, social etc.)
  • Logic and basic level mathematical analysis skills.
  • Eye for detail yet can see a bigger picture
  • Curious, with a desire to continuously learn and expand knowledge
  • Achievement oriented--driven to set and achieve measurable goals
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
