Job Description

We are seeking someone for our Providence, RI office. As the QA engineer you'll be tasked to:

  • create and develop an overall test strategy and plan with a focus towards a complete test life cycle for a software product release.
  • Manage and coordinate the development and approval of detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts that present the goals of testing, test systems to be used and a final test schedule.
  • Track and report software defects and overall software stability.
  • Ensure that ongoing software QA capabilities are robust, effective and efficient in assuring the quality of software development activities.
  • Research and implement new or improved testing methods, processes, tools and systems.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience with web testing and QA
  • 2 years of Selenium or Watir
  • Strong scripting language skills with either Ruby or Python
  • Experience with load/performance testing, preferably JMeter
  • Be able to manage multiple software releases being developed in an agile development environment
  • Automated test experience, preferably with Cruise Control and/or Twist
  • Technical development background, knowledge of Javascript, CSS, OO programming
  • Hands on Linux command line skills
  • Extensive source control experience, preferably SVN
  • Experience with production monitoring tools including Nagios
  • Experience in agile, test-driven development methodologies
