Job Description



Onward Search seeks a Senior UI Engineer to build the next generation User Interface for a leading enterprise application with our Interactive Marketing client. This is a full-time position located on the Peninsula.  Your job will be to develop and maintain presentation layer UI and functionality across a range of web components.

You will work collaboratively with this fun group of serious professionals who need a like minded person to join them in building exceptional web experiences for their customers. Please read on if this sounds like the right opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

  • Implement new features and optimize existing ones
  • Create functional specs from product requirements and build the software to meets those requirements
  • Fix bugs and solve problems
  • Focus on usability, flexibility and failure assessment analysis
  • Identify and communicate best practices
  • Identify and address performance issues
  • Active participant in design and code reviews
  • Follow good coding, testing and documenting practices and adhere to existing standards



Requirements


  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field from a top University
  • 7+ years experience in development engineering, with at least 5+ years building web products, with a demonstrated ability to understand high-performance, high-usage web applications. Experience leading small teams of developers preferred.
  • Deep experience with Object Oriented JavaScript andAjaxand using modern JavaScript libraries, such as extJS, JQuery, YUI, etc.
  • Expert JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Ajax coding skills
  • Experience in architecting in large scale production environments
  • Thorough knowledge of design patterns, usability principles and best practices is required.
  • Great written communication and documentation abilities
  • Extremely detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation in all browsers
  • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
