Job Description
The Onward Search client is looking for a Software Quality Assurance engineer to be a member of a team responsible for testing their on-demand web-based, Human Capital Management (HCM) application. This engineer will work in the HCM QA group which focus on a full-service SAAS solution for streamlining human resource management process and managing employee payroll services.
Responsibilities:
- Interacting with payroll web services with SOAP XML input XSD, executing & running internal tools & tests
- Debugging build/deploying scripts (shell, windows, python)
- Running SQL queries on both Oracle and Microsoft SQL servers
- Writing test plans and performing manual test execution
- Coding Selenium and JUnit automated regression tests
- Participating on Scrum teams to deliver new HCM and Payroll product features
- Deploying Windows test environments in virtual machines
- Debugging and resolving customer issues
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Experience with software quality and testing methodologies
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills working in a team environment
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently when needed
- Organized and reliable, able to efficiently manage multiple tasks
- 1–3 years Java programming experience
- Experience testing/developing Internet applications
- Experience using JUnit for Java code testing
- Experience running SQL queries and an understanding of database design concepts
- Familiarity with Microsoft development environment (Visual Studio, SQL Server, C#, .Net framework)
- Capable of maintaining, debugging & extending internal tools in C#, SQL
- Familiarity of XML/XSD & web services
- Scripting experience (shell, windows, python) is a plus
- Knowledge of HTTP/web servers is a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows administration is a plus
