: User Experience Design

Job Description

We are looking for a strong User Experience Designer to assist in the rebranding of our clients corporate website. As part of a User Experience team, you will be a guide for development teams in user of user-centered design principles, and will work collaboratively with development groups to translate business requirements, user goals and create strategy into a good user experience. You will be responsible for gathering and synthesizing requirements, develop use cases and lead design sessions, create wireframes and build functional & design specifications. In addition you'll work closely with the development team to ensure that technology supports the proposed solutions.

As part of this role you'll develop and maintain personas, prepare and conduct usability tests, expert reviews and focus groups and with the information gathered he/she will work with the Designers to develop low, mid and high fidelity prototypes. 

You must work with the design and development teams to ensure the product is consistent with the UI requirements and usability best practices. They are responsible for ensuring that there is a consistent experience across all products.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create user profiles, personas, process flows, site maps, and wireframes to precisely detail users’ experience and interaction specifications through an application.
  • Plan, lead and/or participate in immersive user research, concept testing, card sorting, and usability testing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for best practices in information architecture, interaction design, and usability.
  • Present and pitch the redesign of existing programs to senior management, the organization and clients.
  • Interact with users/clients to understand user requirements, work-flows and business issues.
  • Strive to raise the level of expertise of the User Experience department and to raise awareness of User experience across the organization. 
  • Communicate with project team (designers, front end developers, developers, strategists, project managers etc.) to foster collaboration on projects.
  • Participate in the requirements definition process with Product Management, Development of other key stakeholders. Drive the clarification of user tasks and objectives.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary product teams to ensure design meets user needs, product requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Contribute to style guide and user experience pattern library.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience directly related to usability.
  • Familiarity with usability techniques for designing and evaluating existing applications, including usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and the entire user-centered design process.
  • Familiarity with card-sorting techniques for defining information architectures.
  • Good interaction skills (e.g., with clients), good presentation skills, ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of relational databases a plus but not a requirement
  • Familiarity with HTML and/or prototyping tools.
