Job Description
Onward Search is looking for a User Experience Architect who will apply knowledge of user-centered design methods, human-computer interaction and industry best practices to drive a long-term CMS project for our client, a westside interactive agency.
Our client, a high profile interactive agency, has a wide variety of high profile clients. The right person will strike a balance between creative and analytical thinking, have prior experience designing/developing a CMS site, participate in concept development, and analyze and visualize user research and provide user interface designs that meet the goals set forth by the team.
Responsibilities:
- Will work to design and oversee development of complex CMS project
- Translate business needs and requirements into engaging and compelling on-line experiences.
- Responsible for creating, enhancing and articulating the overall brand tone and personality through design and execution of online user experiences.
- Support the development and execution of a communication (including education) plan for the user experience architecture.
- Research the competitive landscape and make recommendations relating to website functionality.
Requirements
- Must have prior experience designing the user experience for a CMS site (Drupal, WordPress, etc.)
- Must be able to understand a target audience's needs and other motivating factors and translate them into concepts for compelling interactions and experiences.
- Experience with design applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Visio and technologies such as XML, HTML and CSS.
- Ability to coach teams in proper execution of various research techniques including contextual inquiry, end-user and task analysis for complex or strategic projects.
- Strong background in and understanding of the following: user research, information architecture, information design, interaction design, and user interface design.
- Expert knowledge of fundamental digital marketing and search engine optimization best practices as it relates to UX design.
