AAA FPS AI Engineer (Unreal)

• Collaborate with AI designers, and other AI engineers, to build AI behaviors and systems in both C++ and Unreal Blueprints.
• Develop, implement, and maintain AI algorithms and systems in Unreal Engine, including pathfinding, decision-making, and navigation.
• Optimize the efficiency of our AI systems to enable increasingly sophisticated AI behaviors and higher numbers of active NPCs in our games.
• Design and implement reactive and adaptive AI systems that provide dynamic and engaging experiences for players.
• Collaborate with animation and character teams to integrate AI behaviors seamlessly with character animations and models.
• Optimize AI systems for performance and memory usage to maintain high frame rates and more simultaneously active NPCs.
• Identify and resolve AI-related bugs and undesired behaviors during the development and post-release support phases.
• Observe player behaviors during playtests to identify ways to improve player experiences

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong proficiency with C++ programming.
• Experience with Unreal Engine development.
• Understanding of visual scripting.
• Understanding of behavior trees and the basic principles of videogame AI.
• Previous experience with multiplayer and networked game AI is a plus.
• Affinity for tactical first-person shooters.
