Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant working with one of our top clients in San Jose, CA. Currently we are seeking this individual for a 6-month extendable contract. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide multiple accountants in outsourced accounting function
  • Assist in the monthly close process
  • Review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations across multiple legal entities
  • Review and preparation of monthly general ledger account fluctuations
  • Adhoc analysis of Balance Sheet accounts as requested by Business partners
  • Review and preparation of journal entries and ad hoc reports
  • Partner with various partners and locations to improve and streamline processes
  • Evaluate internal work processes and service deliveries, make recommendations and implement changes for improved efficiencies
  • Fulfill responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Company values and behaviors and maintain high ethical values

Requirements:

  • CPA, CPA Candidate or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with complex reconciliations
  • Experience in working for large company & dealing with large volume of transactions
  • Process oriented with a mindset on how to achieve efficiencies within a function
  • Detail, deadline and goal-oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Be a self-starter with fast learning skills and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency
  • Significant experience and competence with Excel (advanced skills), Word and Outlook. Ability to develop and analyze data spreadsheets a MUST
  • SAP experience a plus but not required

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Candidate should have solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
