Onward Search is hiring an Associate Digital Creative Director for a top agency client located in Seattle, WA on a 6-month contract basis that could go perm

Job Summary:

As an Associate Creative Director, you are responsible for the development and execution of creative concepts for leading-edge Advertising and Digital solutions for a retail client. As an Associate Creative Director, you are responsible for the development and execution of creative concepts for leading-edge Marketing and Web solutions for a retail client. We are looking for an ACD to lead conceptual development, interpret campaigns and how they translate into the digital space in order to drive customer engagement. Current verticals are web, social, promotions, and advertising. You possess a deep understanding of the AOR relationship and core strengths in design.

Responsibilities:

  • Concept, develop and manage a “best in class” Creative product
  • Manage creative teams and tracks of work
  • Lead and direct the creative team from concept to completion
  • Plan and estimate for highly complex projects
  • Risk/issue management and resolution
  • Apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, color, and other ingredients appropriately to create innovative visual solutions that meet business and user needs
  • Visualize, design and conceptualize a user experience
  • Create visual prototypes or screens
  • Extend existing visual systems/brand guidelines across all mediums with moderate design changes or interpretation
  • Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of the creative team's culture and quality standards
  • Delegate of day-to-day responsibility to other Designers, Art Directors, Senior Art Directors, Writers, and Interactive Developers
  • Elevate the creative level of the work coming out of the creative team
  • Educate other team members, not exclusive to the creative team, through project development and performance management
  • Collaborate with strategy, media, account and business development teams to create and develop new business opportunities

MUST HAVES :

  • Must be able to think conceptually and lead multiple tracks of work.
  • Able to do the work as well. Opening design programs, prototyping, experience layouts, etc.
  • Have a significant understanding of interactive/game/app design and development.
  • There is a video component. We design motion for many different and complex screens and technologies – so having that experience and understanding of video/photo shoots is highly desired.
  • Must be client facing and be able to partner well with our clients. They are creative folks – so a lot of organic collaboration happens when we meet with them.

Experience Guidelines:

  • 8+ years of industry/agency experience
  • Strong design portfolio with 4+ years education
  • Art/design background
  • Must have retail experience in an AOR environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail is a must
  • Solid knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs: Mac OS, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.
  • A solid understanding of online and offline production
  • Passion for design and eagerness to mentor and elevate other creative people
  • Self-motivated, organized and accountable
  • Experience leading a team of designers, production specialists and writers to creative excellence
  • Well-developed communication skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and client
  • Understanding of motion design and the strengths and limitations of Flash, Ajax, Flex, and other emerging platforms
  • A solid understanding of informational architecture practices
  • Experience working in a large group environment of 10+
  • Some travel may be required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent military experience
