Sr. Director of Strategic Communications & PR

Our non profit client is looking for a passionate, mission-driven Sr. Director of Strategic Communications & PR to join their team and report to the EVP & COO.

Ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, great at liaising with executives, has an expertise in crisis communications, superb writing skills, and a background in regulated industries or at a large PR agency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with both external partners & internal stakeholders on the production of all marketing, advertising, PR, and graphic communications, including but not limited to messaging, newsletters, brochures, flyers, website content, speeches, presentations, annual reports, events, etc.
  • Be accountable for quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all corporate communications to create a cohesive culture of communication that supports the company’s mission and values
  • Plan for the organization’s growth with focus on the brand's growth, competitive analysis, market growth and brand positioning, alongside executive leadership 
  • Create annual marketing plans and marketing communications budgets for all departments, including fundraising efforts 
  • Implement strategies to maximize resources and infrastructure
  • Plan and execute all internal and external events
  • Manage team from hiring & staffing to coaching, development, performance improvement, and annual reviews

Qualifications:

  • 7 years’ experience in marketing, advertising, corporate communications, crisis communications and media relations in a regulated industry or large PR agency
  • 5 years’ experience as a marketing lead and professional, liaising with executives and guiding PR communication programs from concept to launch
  • Strong ability to think strategically and build business growth plans
  • Demonstrated writing skills, including news, business and persuasive writing
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including proven effectiveness in one-on-one, group communications and media relations
  • Demonstrated project management skills and strong attention to detail, even under pressure/tight deadlines
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, media relations, or other related field, or equivalent experience within a marketing leadership role


This position is Hybrid Onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
