Our client is looking for a Sr. Electrical/Firmware Engineer.
Location: Remote for rockstar, EST time zone. If they can relocate to Vermont that is ideal
Leveling: Mid-to-Sr 4-5 years experience

  • Development of embedded firmware in C, C++ on OVR devices. This will include both code maintenance and R&D
  • Circuit design in collaboration with our lead software programmer, CTO and necessary R+D staff
  • Responsible for circuit simulations including but not limited to SPICE simulation and EM simulation
  • Working with specialized electrical and electromechanical consultants to analyze specific advice around electromechanics for piezo actuation
  • Spec’ing and sourcing of electronic components / connectors and peripherals from manufacturers and vendors to support or prove out circuit designs
  • Working closely with R+D staff to monitor execution of test and prototype circuits. This would be accomplished with in house prototyping tools as well as vendor supplied short run PCB boards
  • Responsible for analyzing prototype circuit tests and subsequent circuit design iterations based on findings and maintain documentation on R+D findings
  • Helping to locate and communicate with vendors and manufacturers as OVR scales into production runs
  • Helping OVR to develop quality control standards around electronics, shepherding our certification processes, develop in house testing automation / inspection tools and potentially even developing in house manufacturing methods for proprietary elements executed in house

SOFTWARE(S):

  • ECAD tools for circuit development (we currently use Autodesk fusion 360 electronics for layout but are open to any suggestions)
  • SPICE simulation software or plugins for ECAD platform
  • Excel, Word, Email in Google Suite
  • Google Drive
  • Slack
  • Jira
  • Microsoft Visual studio code
  • Bonus: ANSYS, OpenEMS or other EMS simulation software
