Creative Operations & Production Manager / Sr. Producer (San Diego)

Onward Search needs a full-time, direct hire Creative Operations & Production Manager / Sr. Producer with employee management experience to join a boutique media production company that has a small business approach, supports autonomy and the ability to create your own path.

You’ll report to the Executive Producer, managing the Production team from onboarding to performance reviews, as well as streamlining workflow processes, and leading all projects & productions for a range of clients in tech, entertainment and advertising.

Candidates must be local and willing to go onsite 5 days a week in northern San Diego, CA.

As a Creative Operations & Production Manager / Sr. Producer you’ll: 

• Manage the Production team from hiring & onboarding to providing day-to-day direction to staff (and external contractors as needed) on shoots & in office, assigning tasks, facilitating performance review sessions, and weekly team meetings with hourly wage & compliance oversight
• Create, manage, standardize and streamline workflows and production of 360-degree projects simultaneously from TV to digital, print, internal presentations and trade shows
• Develop cohesive timelines for pre-production, production and post-production phases to ensure quality asset capture 
• In partnership with the Executive Producer, build seasonal plans with specific milestones for master calendar, manage vendor relations, and budgets

Skills & Experience Needed:  

• 5+ years experience in employee management + creative operations, production, creative services or project management at an agency or fast-paced environment
• Direct experience motivating & managing teams of producers and cross functional teams, as a project lead
• Experience developing standardized processes and streamlining workflows in a similar business model 
• Resilient, thriving under pressure with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on time and on budget
• Flexible with ability to work hours required of shoot days, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Resourceful, problem-solver, go-getter with a great attitude
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Slack, Monday or similar tools
