Anti-Money Laundering Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Investigate transactions related to AML and fraud alerts on the blockchain.
• Draft and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as needed.
• Perform thorough investigative reviews and analyses to support Coinbase’s BSA/AML regulatory compliance policies and program.
• Examine automated alerts from transaction monitoring systems and referrals from law enforcement and other Coinbase departments.
• Analyze transaction activity and KYC information, and conduct necessary due diligence research for investigations.
• Record investigation findings in written narratives.
• Evaluate whether activities require escalation for further review, and provide recommendations on whether they seem suspicious and warrant filing a Suspicious Activity Report.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation to demonstrate adherence to regulations and internal policies.
• Stay updated on industry standards, KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC developments. Apply regulatory requirements and internal procedures to case investigations.

Required Abilities:

• At least 5 years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in relevant compliance roles involving AML/Fraud investigations and preparation/filing of SARs.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities and evolving procedural demands, while emphasizing both productivity and quality.
• Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines such as BSA, OFAC, and FinCEN guidance.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English grammar and exceptional English language writing abilities.
• Proficient in using Google Suite and experienced in blockchain analysis tools like Chainalysis.
