Onward Search is looking for an Art Director with experience in experiential and large-format design to join our agency client in Atlanta for an onsite contract-to-hire opportunity! This is a W2 contract role that will require 40hrs/wk onsite. Benefits are available throughout the term of the engagement.

Job Summary:

  • You are an Art Director who is very familiar with the environmental and experiential design.
  • You can speak to building materials and substrates, you love traditional but have a working knowledge of digital, and you understand what goes into a full consumer journey. And of course, you are a great designer.
  • You are a type-A concepting machine. You can not only think on your feet but organize those thoughts into a compelling story. You can see a big idea but not miss the little details.
  • You are very comfortable working on fast-paced, challenging, deadline-driven projects.
  • You are highly collaborative, but you don't need a lot of hand-holding. It truly takes a village to go after the award-winning, large-scale work that we do.

  • Team Leadership / Mentorship
    • Maintaining high standards on program graphics/ both graphic design and application; responding to creative requests that entail discussing creative options and deadlines; working with Traffic Manager to secure, brief and manage resources to assure deadlines are met
    • Working directly with copywriters and other designers to assemble graphic comps
  • Presentation Skills / Concepting / Proposal Development
    • Supporting RFP responses through the brainstorming and development of conceptual ideas while helping guide the development of presentation renderings including illustrations and graphic design comps for exhibits, environments and all visual communications
    • Express ideas clearly and enthusiastically to internal peers and clients alike through written and verbal formats
    • Direct development of assigned presentation materials on all levels, such as brainstorming, sketching, typesetting, layouts, etc.
  • Illustration / 3D Renderings / Video Production, Interactive UX, Digital Media
    • Helping brief and direct preliminary drawings of proposed exhibits and consumer engagements, including storyboarding, layout; coordinating ideas with Production Services personnel or select outside vendors to make sure budget goals are met. Submit the plan for approval, and adapt the plan as needed to serve the intended purpose or to conform to budget or fabrication restrictions.
    • Must demonstrate a working knowledge or familiarity with design and communication strategy across all mediums including digital, video, mobile, social and other broadcast mediums

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of professional experience as a graphic designer and art director with at least 2 years working on experiential, environmental, or outdoor event projects.
  • Excellent presentation skills with an ability to tell the story of how the concept meets the client's objective both verbally and through written proposals
  • Must be able to multi-task in a highly productive, fast-paced environment
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite apps and be fluent in MS Office, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be nimble, flexible, and able to roll with the punches.
  • You cannot be afraid of deadlines.
  • A love of sports, music, and entertainment would be helpful.
  • A portfolio of work showcasing environmental, experiential, event, and large-format design work is REQUIRED and should be included at the time of application.
