Our client, a leading based technology company is looking for an associate level Digital Art Director, in Richmond, VA, to assist them with some exciting projects. This person must be conceptual, very hands on, detail oriented.

Day to Day:

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, internal and external agency Account Executives, Copywriters and Graphic Designers to help formulate marketing strategy
  • Will use Mac based prepress programs to create preliminary layouts of external marketing materials for eventual production
  • Lead creative design within the assigned business group and create/direct final visual layouts that persuasively communicate marketing objectives to the end consumer
  • Lead and supervise the work of Graphic Designers, outside creative vendors, and production services and monitor the progress of their projects to ensure that the creative intent is not diluted or changed. The end goal is to create compelling visual communication based upon marketing objectives
  • The Art Director will be self-organized and manage multiple deadlines on numerous, concurrent projects
  • Web, mobile and social experience a plus


  • 4-year degree specializing in graphic design or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in design
  • 2 years direct mail preferred

Would like to see:

  • Mid-budget print projects and campaigns, some of which involved supervising other designers
  • Rough pencil sketches and marker storyboards to show conceptual abilities. More actual (produced) work rather than spec work
  • Print process knowledge and/or experience required 


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
