We are looking for a strong Art Director to help with all aspects of design, assignments, and related visual design on social media, video and branding for our Print Publication. We are collaborative community defined by a friendly, collegial and respectful approach. We need a self-starter, excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships, accept feedback, work in a professional manner, and advocate effectively for ideas and creative thinking. You will be expected to work effectively with print and digital editors, production staff, senior management, and all other partners within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating brand appropriate visual design systems that serve as a framework for content in print. Leading discussions and approaches to storytelling, packaging, typography, templates, design hierarchy, color pallets, and iconography
  • Using their talents and experience assigning illustration and commissioning photography, to bring content to life in visually arresting and compelling ways
  • Design and oversee features departments, front and back of book layouts, and communicate with other free lancers and full-time design staff effectively

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of the print process, and be able to oversee vendors, negotiate competitive rates, and manage budgets, deadlines and schedules effectively
  • Excellent in InDesign and K4 publishing software, proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Final Cut Pro and WordPress is a plus
  • Experience with print creative content that scales into a variety of social and digital platforms. Including social media platforms, print and digital formats across sizes and platforms
