Our client, a well-known financial institution and technology brand is looking for an Art Director for their growing team. This candidate will be key in helping take their events to the next level by concepting and developing event deliverables/brand activations in support of their Commercial Bank marketing initiatives.



  • Internal agency for Capital One, events social, commercial branding, research, commercial card.
  • One hub is in NYC (HM is there) Craig (CD) in VA.
  • Events, branding, social and product marketing.
  • Editor, copywriter and AD – has cranked out 355 projects and looking to round out about 500.
  • Low risk and conceptual.
  • Sometimes templates, others horizontal and starting from scratch
  • Need: events are open, needs-focused.
  • Eat sleep breathing events, helping with concept ideation, creating deliverables.
  • 60% production, hop into photoshop, illustrator, print, digital – a lot of experiential too.
  • Look and feel, brand activation, come alive with messaging.
  • Pitch meetings, may speak to art direction piece, looking for the right hand to help; the point of contact with vendors.
  • Very hands on role, manage vendors.
  • Needs a team player, they are production, need to be able to take direction.
  • Do not want a senior person, need someone looking to grow.
  • Likes the idea of someone with luxury events – one event is at Napa, one is at the masters.
  • Luxury Brands: BMW, AUDI, Away, (may be doing car events), tech events, LinkedIn, Google.
  • They’re trying to be a tech-focused company.
  • They will be working closely with other Art Director.
  • Phone interview à In person à design test (conceptual test).


  • 5+ of experience as an Art Director with at least 3-5 of those years in digital/mobile/Web/ experiential within an Events/PR Firm, Advertising Agency, Studio Agency or Corporate-side in-house creative team.
  • 1-2 years of financial industry experience.
  • Proficiency using a Mac and Adobe suite.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet aggressive deadlines should the need arise.
  • An understanding of the benefits of the process, and experience using the process to his/her advantage.
  • The ability to translate investing and financial products into event themes/content, and present the work effectively to key stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience with booth and print production for events.
  • Comfortable during presentations to co-workers and manager, able to speak to the work with excitement/clarity/enthusiasm and passion (good at selling the idea and the execution).
  • Ability to collaborate with external vendors/collaborators for projects and campaigns, which will include reviews/feedback/conference calls.
  • Experience in UX/UI, wire framing and interaction models.
