Our client — a leader in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry — is looking for a Design Director to be the right-hand person to the President.
 
This Design Director needs to be a mature, creative problem solver with a strong managerial background. Wilting flowers need not apply!

Responsibilities:
• Lead all Creative/Design for all projects at Gelcomm's
• Manage creative team - designers and copywriters
• Present comps to client and be comfortable to pitch revenue generating ideas
 
Top 7 Non-Negotiables:
 
  • 10+ years of design experience in the CPG industry, with a killer portfolio to show for it.
  • 5+ years of cracking the whip with creatives (i.e., managing internal teams).
  • Have a strong conceptual vision and a passion for following industry trends.
  • Excel at presentations and winning over clients.
  • Be a powerful, persuasive communicator — both with the team and with clients.
  • Know how to organize and prioritize — not just your time, but your projects.
  • Be obsessive about design. You collect cool match books, can cite your Top 5 Fonts, and slay anyone in Trivia Pursuit for Designers.
 
Top 3 Bonuses:
 
  • Have awesome illustration and hand-lettering skills. (The way to the President's heart.)
  • Be interested in the expanding multi-cultural consumer market.
  • Have a design award or two.
This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role based in Los Angeles. Offering a competitive salary and benefits. Position starts 9/12.
