Sr. Producer

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and write viral/trends pieces for our different verticals
  • Assist in social programming on multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others as required.
  • Knowledge of content framing, social media packaging and demonstrated success in driving traffic and new audiences via social platforms to O&O sites as well as growing audience on social media platforms
  • Assist with coverage of breaking news on multiple social platforms
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends, evolving strategies and works constantly with editorial and audience team to ensure all types of social content are following current best practices
  • Ideate unique call-to-action campaigns or other creative strategies to promote content and engage with users on social platforms
  • Monitor social media performance analytics

Skills:

  • Demonstrate success in news judgement. Identify content that resonates on specific social platforms and grow audiences both in terms of volume and demographic diversity
  • Understand and execute social best practices in all aspects across all major platforms (scheduling posts, programming video, content promotion, etc.)
  • Strong writing skills and voice
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics.
  • Strong grammar and communication skills
  • Optimize stories and editorial content for a social audience

You Also Should Be:

  • An experienced social media writer/editor with 2+ years working on social media accounts for a media brand or other relevant outlet.
  • A team player who can multitask and work across multiple groups to partner and collaborate on multiple initiatives.
  • A dedicated follower of news in its many forms — everything from cryptocurrency turmoil to lifestyle memes to the latest news out of Washington.
  • Someone who enjoys engaging with the social audience and loves to build the conversation around our content
