Onward Search is looking for a Sr. QA Automation Manager to join our prominent agency client in Atlanta for a contract role!  Candidate must have proven quality assurance and project analysis experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. NOTE: 50% domestic travel is required and you must be willing and able to accommodate that schedule.

Project:

  • 50% domestic travel is required for this role and you MUST be willing and able to accommodate that schedule. There are TWO additional cities where teams will be managed. Travel and customer facing work will be required. May diminish over time, but extended stays of up to 2 weeks per month are planned into scope.
  • This is for a large-scale, Agile Implementation for a mobile app for our banking client's Team has an objective to increase automation across all areas.
  • A large automation transformation effort is underway. This position will help lead driving automation transformation and ensuring that best practices are applied.
  • You will be working with a mobile development team that focuses on building a financial services mobile experience that redefines the banking experience for millions.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of QA experience, preferably in testing mobile projects, e-commerce websites, web-based projects.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Automation QA teams.
  • Knowledge of Mobile Test Automation (e.g. Appium).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience in various types of testing (Automation, Functional, Regression, Browser compatibility, Integration, System, Configuration, Smoke, Accessibility, etc.).
  • Knowledge of QA automation frameworks and tools.
  • Prior experience with building and enhancing automation frameworks and automation test scripts based on business use cases.
  • Experience with working in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of bug tracking software (preferably JIRA).
  • Knowledge of object oriented programming preferred.
  • Experience with Java, scripting languages, Linux platform and relational databases.
  • Knowledge of "page performance" preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire, motivate, coach and guide a QA team to improve the overall product quality through test strategy/ planning sessions, automation code review sessions, etc.
  • Have an “automate-everything” mindset.
  • Be a hands on lead (functional testing + automation).
  • Communicate with cross-functional team members on application issues and report problems using bug tracking software so that solutions can be determined, prioritized and scheduled.
  • Lead a mobile automation team that focuses on maximizing the ROI on automation for our business client.
  • Lead a team that is focused on client side automation for mobile web and mobile app using existing and evolving frameworks.
  • Provide thought leadership in selecting sound automation strategies/ utilities and drive efficiency by building robust automation.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers across geographical locations to focus on thorough integration testing and automation with backend RESTful services
  • Be an advocate for quality in product development process.
  • Collaborate with the Clients, Development and Delivery teams to:
    • ensure that QA team is aligned to meet QA goals for the account; and
    • ensure that QA team has appropriate direction and resources to deliver solutions effectively.
  • Partner closely with development leads and other teams to organize testing responsibilities within tight release schedules.
  • Focus on increasing the overall throughput of the agile teams by reducing the amount of time taken for testing.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of the QA team’s deliverables, identifying gaps and implementing effective solutions.
  • Provide regular status updates and call out risks to release and projects timelines.
  • Provide root cause analysis for production issues and how to avoid them after each release.
