Back End Developer / Engineer

Our client, a leading streaming service, is looking for a data-oriented Back End Engineer. Specifically this person must have strong Java and SQL skills with experience in Scala and BigQuery.

This is a fully remote position, however candidates must work on EST hours.

This team is focused on core infrastructure, building tools that enable our engineers to analyze cloud spending, surface inefficiencies, and take action on cost-saving opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks like Scio, Storm, Spark, and Google Cloud Platform
• Write distributed, high-volume services in Java or Scala
• Use best practices in continuous integration and delivery
• Work in a multi-functional agile team to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on product objectives
• Other tasks may apply

About you:

• Strong Java and SQL
• Experience in Scala and BigQuery
• Ability to build large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks like Scio, Storm, Spark, and Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to work on EST hours
