3D Material Specialist

One of our apparel clients is looking for a Materials Intern to help in their textile department.

3D Materials Specialist responsible for maintaining the virtual material library, creating seasonal novelty apparel and accessory 3D materials and make it accessible for internal and external 3D users. The role will also be responsible for creating training materials and instructions for various software to guide the best practice of the material library.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Properly recognize materials and fabrics
• Support the record generation and maintenance of virtual material library
• Import scanned materials and artwork in 3D program software; correct color and manipulate images as required using Adobe Suite software (Photoshop or Substance)
• Primary focus is apparel seasonal materials; secondary is accessories
• Post Processing digital materials and ensuring Quality Assurance for use in Clo3D, Browzwear, and Keyshot
• Record technical, item, and structural metadata in a spreadsheet
• Enter descriptive metadata into a digital collections content management system

Skills:

• Ability to work effectively with little supervision and as a part of a team
• Basic understanding of textile materials, ability to tell the difference of material constructions
• Sensitivity to and experience handling library or archival materials records
• Ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Substance preferred
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications preferred
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

• Some training and/or experience with photography or graphic communication arts
• Maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Attention to detail required
• Sound judgment to identify and report problems to supervisors and contribute to resolving them
