Firm based in the General Boston Mass area is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Analyst to join a 3+ month project ASAP. Must be local as a Face to Face/Onsite Interview is required. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Study and understand the business processes and data needs, related to business areas such as website product development, back end web and native app operations, financial planning and forecasting, business development, and marketing
  • Design and support the components of the Flights data management systems, such as data marts, ETL processes, tables, reports, and reporting environments
  • Drive strategic projects to create opportunity for data driven decision making. For example, identifying areas where existing data may be insufficient then researching and crafting a plan for improvement
  • Manage tactical improvements to a complex data infrastructure. For example, overseeing a project to centralize and standardize similar data coming from different sources
  • Propose and create processes for capturing and maintaining metadata. Recommend ways to reduce manual work and recover efficiency
  • Create data QA plans, anomaly detection measures, and validation to spot and correct errors in the data. Ensure that data loaded into the warehouse systems is accurate
  • Translate business questions and data requirements into specifications for detailed website tracking and logical data models. Effectively communicate business requirements to technical stakeholders and technical requirements to business stakeholders with ease
  • Test and verify tracking for new product features from the live site all the way downstream to reporting
  • Forensic data investigation—investigating and diagnosing often complex data interaction issues
  • Use internally developed tools to create new or enhance existing ETL workflows
  • Establish system documentation and ensure it is continually accurate and sustained

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field
  • Five years of work experience in database systems.
  • Solid RDBMS operational knowledge and outstanding SQL skills, both querying as well as data modeling with large, complex datasets
  • Experience using Hadoop/Hive and writing efficient Hive queries a plus. Experience with developing Oozie jobs is also a plus
  • Knowledge of basic application development and programming practices is a plus
  • ETL expertise
  • Experience with data modeling and architecture
  • Experience with Jira and/or an agile development cycle is a plus
  • Excellent research, analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate business needs. Strong listening skills (important for communicating to technical and nontechnical team members)
  • Ability to work with and support multiple stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
