Our client, a growing online educational content publisher, is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team on an on-going freelance assignment. This role begins on-site immediately in Boston and runs through the end of 2019.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting in developing, implementing and documenting processes and controls (new or adjusted).
  • Driving activities involving the formulation of systems scope and objectives, analyzing and evaluating existing or proposed systems, and devising or modifying procedures to solve end user problems.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and investigates the establishment and implementation of new or revised applications systems and programs.
  • Taking a business centric approach to interacting with users across all levels of the organization, ensuring that Business Requirements are documented, managed, prioritized, signed off, tested and that the system is successfully adopted by the Users.
  • Building strong working relationships with the various key stakeholders of the organization to understand important drivers of business and operations.
  • Facilitating meetings to gather requirements via workshops, interviews, case studies and any other effective means Identify, define, interpret and clarify scope of problems/issues in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
  • Setting up analytical models to support operational process design and improve decision making.
  • Leveraging various methodologies to facilitate improvements in operations efficiency, including simplifying complex business processes, removing defects/inefficiencies from business processes and drive improvements to processes where necessary. Quantify the benefits and ensuring measurability of results.
  • Develop and execute plans to automate reports and push information to key stakeholders, optimizing the current processes to ensure appropriate access to the best data.
  • Assist in the development of policies, processes, and standards.

About you:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in workflow analysis and software specification development, preferably with education or SAAS experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, Agile Product Data Management oriented environment.
  • Experience with project tracking software JIRA.
  • Experience with content development, data mapping, project deployment, various CMS systems.
  • Proven skill in analyzing workflows/requirements and creating use cases, diagrams and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, focus and organization.
  • Experience with Authoring and Content enrichment systems
  • Ability to perform efficiently within a high pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills required
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, research, and team-work skills required
  • Proficient in process mapping applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products
