Our client, a Fortune 500 organization with offices in the northern suburbs and around the country, is seeking a transactional writer to help out with a new project.

In this role, you will work to update the copy/content across communications as requested while staying within legal requirements, brand guidelines and tone. Optimally, the ideal candidate will have experience in writing/updating transactional communications.

The purpose of the department is:

  • To lead the planning and development of integrated consumer/customer communications that build Brand consideration, preference, loyalty and meet marketing business goals
  • To drive brand consistency and broaden the brand footprint across all media based on business goals and brand standards and guidelines
  • To deliver those communications with operational excellence. Customer Marketing partners with other areas of Marketing and throughout the organization to ensure all consumer communications are strategically aligned against business goals and objectives

The scope of this job is:

As a Writer for this contract position, you will help plan, write and organize an entire suite of customer transactional communications – including direct mail, email, text, and website.

You will report to the Associate Marketing Manager and work closely to ensure all communications “put the customer at the center,” are brand appropriate, and improve customer experience at key transactional moments.

You will be tasked to help fix, reduce and rewrite/redesign a portion of customer transactional communications, pushing for simplification and greater personalization via data.

Required Skills:

  • Create content that’s thoughtful and moves people to action
  • Flex a range of writing skills, from technical to conceptual
  • Use data strategically to optimize messaging plans and deliver on personalization
  • Write, edit and proofread in a collaborative setting
  • Write copy that’s appropriate for project needs, from transactional to marketing
  • Ensure brand voice and tone guidelines are applied and consistent across all touch points
  • Partner with Consumer Marketing teams and other departments, building relationships with internal and external business partners and resources
  • Manage your time under a variety of conditions
  • Work with solid level of independence on new or unfamiliar projects of moderate complexity
  • Stay on top of industry trends Job Qualifications:
  • Show a smart, solid book with samples that show how you think and write
  • 3-5 years as a copywriter or digital writer
  • Strong marketing background preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate relationship, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate solutions skills; flexible in times of change
  • Must be highly motivated and a passionate team player
