Our agency client is seeking a Technical Writer to create an Installation, Care, and Use Manual for a new product. This contract role will require you to be onsite at their client's facility in southern Wisconsin for 1/2 a day. After that, the project is remote.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the content production, editing, and formatting of designed and developed training materials. You will also maintain and advises developers on adherence to the production standards for publications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to style guide and publishing production standards while editing and formatting developed training materials. Advises and recommends application of standards, templates to Subject Matter Experts and vendor content developers
  • Provides documentation design insights to customers and consultants to leverage graphic design aesthetics, readability, color and visual design of instructional outputs
  • Recommends to customers how to communicate advanced concepts in print in an easy-to-read, logical format that is also visually appealing
  • Assists with the coordination for language translation and localization services for content, as necessary
  • Develops and/or adheres to templates and other learning content standards as required for maintenance or new products
  • Coordinates and advises on content asset archiving, meta-data tagging for search and other content management duties to retrieve and store content assets

Other Requirements:

  • Three to five years of editing, proofing, and writing content for learning
  • Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation
  • Excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills. Must be detail oriented yet flexible
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects with quick turnaround time
  • Proficient eye for color, style and design coherence of digital and paper learning publications
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in editing copy layout and graphics
  • Knows how to illustrate complex concepts into a visually arresting, simple design to aid learning
  • Familiar with the learning theory and understands how text, graphics and media are applied to enhance learning
