A Fortune 500 organization located in the Loop is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. In this role you will provide expert analysis and engineering in the following areas:

• Automation
• 3rd party risk assessments (in house)
• Disaster recovery and continuity of operations (in house)
• Documentation / technical writing
• Vulnerability management and remediation
• Privilege access management
• Email security
• SIEM

Additional responsibilities include:
• Responding and investigating notifications from our security tools

• Participate in “Lessons Learned” process to provide information to help improve practices, methodologies, tools, and other technologies

• Provide log analysis and engineering support on a wide array of technologies to include host, network device, operational technology devices, IoT and mobile devices to support incident response activities
• Assess the IT infrastructure and able to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvements or additional mitigation controls
• Project management skills. Experience drafting project plans for security service and technology deployments and coordinate with stakeholders across the organization
• Build scripts to automate various information security processes for on-premise and in the cloud
• Work with IT leadership and Infrastructure to manage vulnerability assessments and remediation effort
• Establish technical solutions and new security tools to reduce security vulnerabilities
• Implement Information security best practices
