Onward has a gaming client is search of a COMMUNITY MANAGER who is the internal and external voice of the game and the company in general.

This person is intimately familiar with gaming systems on a moment to moment basis as well as long term in order to understand the impact they have on the player and that player's experience.

The community manager is responsible for not only pitching new content and features based on the feedback they are receiving, but how it effects the community once the changes to the content have been made.

Other writing requirements could include writing editorials, multimedia segments for promotion at an event, develop content to engage followers in a thoughtful and purposeful manner. You are an advocate of the company as a whole, the games that are created and working inside the games as an influencer.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven track record in creating multiple social media campaign outreach and nurturing digital communities across various platforms.

  • Able to multi-task and work quickly with the marketing team and studio to effectively promote timely news, assets, video content and events.
  • Experience being an authentic voice to various audiences, while executing meaningful campaigns and relevant content calendars (vs. generating “noise”).
  • Proficient in SEO, analytic, scheduling and reporting tools in order to advise the team.
  • Provide good judgment in navigating and resolving sensitive situations online.
  • Work with prospective online media partnerships that will foster and support the organic growth of the brand.
  • Event planning and logistical work experience.
  • Passion for games, entertainment and consumer landscape.


  • Experience as a community spokesperson online and offline, serving the studio’s best interests at all times.
  • Strategic, resourceful and results-driven.
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving and responding quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Comfortable working with corporate partners in a start-up environment, while being flexible to perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Solid with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, G+, Tumblr, Snapchat, etc, and responding to fans.
  • Use of Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Keyhole, Hootsuite, Klout etc

  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
