Our client, a Consumer Products Company, is seeking a freelance Copy Editor to join the team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Proofread all toy and CPG product descriptions before they launch on the site and edit accordingly
  • Be the liaison between the copy team and the buying team following up for information and making edits as requested
  • Make sure the voice/tone of each description aligns with the item featured
  • Very high volume as up to 1,000 new items a month
  • Write product descriptions during busy times

Musts:

  • BA/BS preferred
  • Experienced with writing product copy, both hardlines and softlines ideally familiar with contemporary fashions
  • Accurate proof reader and editor
  • Detail oriented as the copy needs to be accurate, both grammatically and factually
  • Fast, we have a huge workload and speed is imperative
  • Self-motivated as there is limited direction and not a micro-managed setting
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams: buyers, merchandisers, photographers, marketing, etc. Part of the self-motivation is to learn to ask the right people for information
  • Someone who is used to working in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume turnaround
