Onward Search has an exciting new opportunity with a big client. This opportunity is for a Copywriter who can start immediately onsite at our client’s office in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will be working directly and collaboratively with members of the creative team and business partners to develop and produce effective communications. If you are self-organized and can manage multiple deadlines on numerous concurrent jobs, then this job is perfect for you!


  • Maintain awareness of latest advertising and marketing trends in the finance industry and advertising in general
  • Brainstorm with a team to develop marketing ideas
  • Create original, brand-compliant copy for online and/or printed marketing materials
  • Document creative strategy and effectively presents rationale and ideas to clients


  • Must have a 4-year degree in communications, creative writing, journalism or similar discipline.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of writing experience (Financial Services experience preferred).
  • Must have a portfolio that demonstrates experience with national advertising or marketing campaigns (annual reports, broadcast, print, and web).
  • Direct Mail and/or web experience required within any industry (Financial Services, preferred).
  • Brings processes, technology or people solutions to the table about the design or print process.
  • Proven ability to coach and challenge the design team to improve the effectiveness of creative.
  • Web, mobile and social experience a plus.
