Onward Search is looking for a Copywriter with strong proofreading skills to join our agency client in Atlanta for an ongoing contract opportunity!

Position Scope:

  • This is a W2 contract role.
  • Weekly workload is expected to be a minimum of 16-24hrs/week; however, there are also weeks where that could push up to 40hrs/wk. As a result, the candidate MUST be flexible with regard to schedule and availability.
  • Candidates will be expected to work onsite in the client's West Midtown offices a minimum of 2-3 days/week. Weeks requiring engagement above that baseline 16-24 hrs/wk may be completed remotely after 1 month on assignment or at the client's discretion, but onsite work is strongly preferred.
  • This role has the potential to convert into a permanent, full-time role down the line but timing for that conversion is uncertain.
  • The ideal candidate is a true freelancer who is looking for a strong base client to schedule their book of freelance business around. However, it is important to note that there is NO flexibility in the 2-3 day onsite requirement; fully remote candidates will NOT be considered.

About the Role:

  • This is NOT a specialist role and you'll need to have incredibly diverse copywriting experience across multiple channels and types of copy.
    • Projects range from conceptual down to tactical as well as technical, short- and long-form, print, and digital and could include product descriptions, headlines/taglines, emails, social, marketing collateral, retail, OOH, posters, brochures, banner ads, web copy, video/scripting, etc etc.
    • As a result, you'll need to be able to wear a variety of hats and work across multiple concurrent projects.

About You:

  • You must be very strong in reviewing your own work for spelling, grammar, and other editorial mistakes. The client does not have an Editor/Proofreader on staff and the Content team works together to QA all copy that leaves the office.
  • 5-8 years of broad professional marketing copywriting experience is required; prior agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing, or a similar field is strongly preferred. Completion of a training program from a specialized institution like Portfolio Center, VCU Brandcenter, etc. may be substituted.
  • A portfolio of modern, highly diverse marketing and product copy is required and should be submitted at time of application. The wider the variety of work, the better off we'll be.
