Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for freelance Creative Resource Manager at a leading San Francisco advertising agency. As a Creative Resource Manager, you’ll partner with a various teams to drive the success of a pillar of business. It’s your job to facilitate efficient and effective internal creative process, ensure sufficient freelance resourcing for project needs, and manage timing and resources so that teams are able to meet Client expectations, and Creative Directors are set up for success.

This is a freelance opportunity that kicks-off at the beginning of April!


  • Understand current, pending and future workload, and map a plan to appropriate freelance resources accordingly
  • Hold meetings with Creative Leadership to provide status on resourcing, upcoming assignments, and obstacles to resolve
  • Manage freelancer’s calendars and coverage
  • Assess current structure, tools and processes, and develop a proposal for how to improve resource operations
  • Manage resource obstacles that arise on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide regular reporting to Creative and Marketing Leadership on resource burn rate and bandwidth
  • Show proven results of improved processes, project planning and workload efficiencies
  • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities


  • College degree preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in resource management in the creative services, marketing, or design agencies
  • Deep understanding of creative development process and key creative players
  • Stellar experience sourcing for freelancers in an agency/in-house setting
  • Excellent internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
