Data Architect needed for a Contract-to-PERM hire engagement with an insurance client.


  • Working closely with the Principal Data Architect supporting data integration and delivery projects. This will involve source data analysis and profiling, data modeling, process design, and performing code reviews for a variety of projects related to the build-out of an enterprise data warehouse in support of business intelligence and integration services
  • Providing guidance to ETL developers and BI resources related to the appropriate use and data quality considerations
  • Contribute strategic and tactical thought leadership, technical expertise, and guidance to the Data Management future state architecture and capability roadmap
  • Collaborate with Data Management, Business Intelligence team, stakeholders, and team members to define, design, build, test, deploy and support a full data warehouse environment
  • Provide technical and architectural guidance to projects and project teams to ensure that new initiatives enable effective reporting and analytics needs
  • Identify, evaluate, and provide solution options to improve data process and data quality issues
  • Contribute to the definition of standards, best practices, and methodologies for data modeling, integration, version control, solution deployment, and change management
  • Provide guidance to the process for integration testing and quality assurance testing of data solutions
  • Participate in Data Governance Council with the objective of continuing to improve data quality, data availability, data security, and data maturity
  • Perform other duties as needed


  • 5+ years of successful experience data modeling for relational databases using data modeling software (PowerDesigner experience is a plus). Experience with dimensional modeling and/or message modeling is an advantage
  • 5+ years of successful experience in data management, data warehousing, business intelligence, data analytics within an IT organization with increasing scope of responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to profile data from disparate sources in support of data integration activities
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and building of enterprise data warehouses including data strategy, data modeling, and architecture
  • Core understanding of business intelligence/data warehousing technologies, methodologies, and techniques of: data discovery, data sources, presentation layer, etc., with proven experience delivering successful solutions
  • Knowledge of insurance industry data models/modeling relevant to the property & casualty industry is a plus
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to plan iterative steps for delivery on strategic goals
  • Understanding of common SDLC practices/methodologies, agile methodologies
