Our client, a leading global branding design and packaging agency, is looking for a Lead Designer to join their team on a freelance to hire basis. This role begins on-site in NYC as soon as possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee the creative work across multiple brands at the same time.
  • Lead and mentor a team of designers to drive creative projects and presentations.
  • Cultivate and curate strong creative work from your group.
  • Participate in projects ranging from upstream strategic concepting through identity design, packaging, and global toolkits.
  • Provide hands-on design execution, as well as, guiding and mentoring more junior talent.
  • Lead internal and client presentations, communicating strategy and rationale for design choices.
  • Partner with clients to agree on how projects and executions are handled, coming to an approved design direction per project.
  • Other tasks may apply.

About you:

  • 10 - 15 years of graphic, branding, and packaging design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an art/design focused study.
  • Must have significant examples of Global Visual Identity experience from a branding, advertising or design company.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, mainly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Bonus: Experience in financial services.
  • Experience managing and mentoring designers and senior designers.
  • You can create original design concepts that address significant client business challenges in an actionable way.
  • Bring clear and concise thinking and communication to the team.
  • Confident presentation skills and ability to communicate design concepts up through C-Suite level clients.
