Our client, an award-winning branding agency, is in search of a Design Director with a focus on branding to join their team on a permanent basis beginning with a brief freelance trial period. This role starts as soon as possible on-site in NYC.


  • You will be both a leader and a creator in the office, managing your designers as well as bring your creative ideas to life in a hands-on capacity.
  • Maintain a strong point of view, managing design processes and presenting your ideas to clients.
  • Executing creative ideas across disciplines but with a focus on branding. Other areas include integrated communications, film, digital, etc.
  • Collaborate with strategists, project managers, developers, filmmakers, designers, creative director, and agency partners to create fantastic design concepts that work across many forms of media to move clients’ business forward.
  • Oversee and help with the development and implementation of design solutions in any place the brand can live beyond print (e.g., web, video, events, and beyond).
  • Create and implement branding/marketing initiatives across traditional and digital channels.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning by bringing your ideas to the table - also be open to learning from your counterparts.
  • Use storytelling to present creative concepts to clients.
  • Partner with your program management and strategy teams to nurture client relationships.
  • Other tasks may apply.


  • 6-8 years of experience in B2B branding, brand identity, design systems, and campaign development.
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in visual design or art.
  • You can see projects through from concept to execution (on your own or as a team leader).
  • Have designed for corporate identity, web identity, film, rebrands, guidelines, logos, etc.
  • Senior level, polished presentation, and writing skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excitement and eagerness to help grow senior and junior designers in their careers with experience managing mid and junior level designers.
