Our client, a design studio, is seeking a Design Project Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • A single point of contact for project labeling and artwork content creation with end-to-end accountability connected to project status through the launch
  • Focus on upstream innovation process for new product development, package design and labeling content creation, and transition of finalized adaption design to artwork execution
  • Facilitation of the briefing process, status meetings, driving for clarity and locked decisions
  • Properly assess each project’s business objectives and develop the best strategic workflow for efficiency and success
  • Track and report project milestone status to key business partners
  • Initiate a formal escalation process to address critical issues, project scope changes or roadblocks as appropriate
  • Proactively identify areas for process and performance improvements – new processes, new management tools

Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-8 years of relevant business experience is required with strong experience in print packaging
  • Proven ability to drive the process in complex, interrelated cross-functional new product development and large-scale brand redesign projects is required
  • Demonstrated strategic business and analytical skills; including an understanding of key project management principles in the product development space and how to leverage this knowledge to make sound business recommendations in a fluid strategic environment
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and lead productive discussions to create alignment of senior cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication verbal & written, strong interpersonal and team facilitation skills
  • Ability to drive a team forward, stay on track and reconfigure the process if significant scope changes are required
  • Comfortable in facilitating a professional, fact-based, transparent, escalation process when necessary
  • Prior agency or internal creative studio experience a plus
  • Mac literate – Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfortable working with offices in LA and/or NYC as needed
  • Strong knowledge of creative development and printing production processes
  • Aware of current brands and commercial trends especially as they relate to design and packaging development
  • Ability to travel when necessary
