Onward Play's gaming client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing their CI/CD infrastructure, managing both physical and virtual hardware, and supporting the backend infrastructure needs of their IP. 

This role offers flexibility for remote, Hybrid (east cost hours) or onsite with relocation assistance provided.


  • Create, implement, and maintain optimized CI/CD systems to facilitate smooth game builds.
  • Develop tools to support developer iteration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of automation and backend systems.
  • Configure and manage virtual and physical build machine hardware, both new and existing.
  • Identify and propose solutions to address issues that hinder build performance.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with development teams across various disciplines to resolve build-related challenges.
  • Design, implement, and maintain pipeline tools.
  • Coordinate release deployments.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps, preferably within the games industry.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins or similar automation systems, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong competence in C# or a similar programming language.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Possesses curiosity, kindness, and maintains a positive and professional can-do attitude.
  • Candidates must have a valid US work permit or citizenship.

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with Python, Windows Batch, Windows PowerShell, and/or C++.
  • Knowledge of modern container management technologies.
  • Commercial experience in shipping a console game.
  • Preferred experience with Unreal 4-5.
  • Experience in managing a VMware virtualization infrastructure, including virtual machine deployment, configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
