Onward Search is looking for TWO Digital Content Strategists to join our prominent client in Memphis, Tennessee for a long-term 40hr/week onsite contract opportunity! Benefits are available throughout the length of the engagement.

PLEASE NOTE: This position sits onsite in Memphis, Tennessee, but candidates from outside of that market who are willing to relocate to Memphis are encouraged to apply. However, please also note that this is a contract role and relocation assistance will not be provided.

Position Summary

  • You will lead the planning, creation, and management of digital experiences for one of two different workstreams:
    • 1) content related to peer-to-peer fundraising experiences.
    • 2) content about logged-in experiences for our most loyal donors.
  • You will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, UX Designers, and other Content Strategists to take a user and mobile-first approach to ensure these experiences achieve the goals of our business, meet the needs of our users, and are consistent with our brand and web guidelines.
  • This is primarily a strategic role and NOT a writing or content creation role. However, it is expected that the candidate will have a good understanding of copywriting, language, and the written word.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects, designs, and analyzes user research (analytics, user testing, A/B testing, etc. to make data-driven recommendations regarding the account management OR peer-to-peer digital user experience.
  • Collaborates with Developers, UX Designers, and a Product Owner to brainstorm and design features consistent with business and user goals in an Agile environment.
  • Works with fundraising partners to understand business needs and develop web content strategies and key deliverables such as stakeholder interviews, content briefs, page tables, user flows, editorial style guides and governance plans.
  • Works with team to identify and implement effective personalization strategies.
  • Authors content in the content management system.
  • Audits and creates governance around the growing number of logged-in digital OR peer-to-peer fundraising experiences.
  • Writes and edits transactional copy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism/English, Marketing, Advertising or Information Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content including content strategy and hands-on writing/editing for UX, web, and/or mobile channels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and settle disagreements amicably in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and rapidly changing technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, grammar and writing ability.
  • Excels at clearly and effectively communicating the rationale behind user experience recommendations.
  • Familiarity with SEO and usability best practices.
  • Willingness to learn new software packages quickly and assist in department training
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and project management skills strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working in an Agile environment strongly preferred.
