Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Director with a growing eyewear company!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a weekly, monthly and annual marketing budget and provide periodic forecasts.
  • Own marketing calendar and create campaigns based on strategic goals and analysis of historical campaigns. Responsible for ongoing updates in collaboration with creative, IT and merchandising.
  • Actively engage with other functional leaders to integrate marketing plans with merchandising, creative, finance, IT, customer service, and operations.
  • Manage outside Digital Marketing Agencies to ensure metrics and targets are being met.
  • In partnership with digital marketing agency, oversee Paid Media strategy and performance within search, display, social, affiliate, and programmatic advertising.
  • Analyze marketing performance within Google Analytics, Tableau, various acquisition platforms, and dashboards from digital marketing agencies.
  • Plan and coordinate email marketing campaigns in tandem with the company’s marketing agency.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within the marketing program and vet new vendors or platforms.
  • Provide recommendations for on-site marketing placements and structure in collaboration with merchandising and IT.
  • Provide creative feedback on marketing assets and campaigns and lead A/B testing strategy across paid media and email marketing.
  • Make website recommendations to optimize campaign success, improve site functionality, and launch new areas within the website to support marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Ongoing evaluation and analysis of the competitive marketplace and drive innovation to be the industry leader in the prescription glasses and fashion space.
  • Work with Product Merchandising to identify areas of opportunity from a product standpoint and help establish a market position for new product offerings and technology

Musts:

  • 10+ years total experience with 5 years specifically in a digital marketing and an equivalent amount of experience accomplishing business objectives, setting goals, and tracking performance
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing strategy, trends, and tools. An ability to drive/lead/optimize all digital marketing and advertising in a dynamic and growing environment.
  • Strong and effective leadership skills including proven experience recruiting, developing, and leading strong marketing teams is preferred, but this will be a very hands-on role
  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree/MBA desired.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Basecamp, and Google Analytics.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and influence skills with ability to develop accurate and detailed messaging with sensitivity to proper tone and positioning.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of strategic planning principles and best practices.
  • Experienced at developing and managing budget and appropriate KPI’s.
  • Strong vendor management experience with effective negotiation skills.
  • Strong project and time management skills, combined with an accountable “can do” attitude, that allow the candidate to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Strategic, innovative and creative thinker.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex problems and propose solutions to solve those problems
  • High integrity, sound judgement, high energy, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and a self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.
