Onward Search is hiring for a Digital Marketing Specialist for a faith-based organization in Atlanta, GA. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Health benefits included. Must be able to work Sunday thru Thursday.

The Digital Marketing Specialist for Web, Social Media, and Graphic Design is responsible for creating, managing, and monitoring web, email, print, and social media content on all platforms and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our brand identity with graphic and artistic production.

Essential Tasks:

  • Upload all content to the website, including newsletter, bulletin updates, video/audio content and blog posts
  • Produce the monthly newsletter of upcoming events in the life of the church
  • Source and regularly update relevant images from internal database and online sources
  • Create posters, advertisements, and graphic design upon request for both soft and physical production
  • Crop and, where necessary, manipulate all images for optimal file size for upload speed and resolution requirements
  • Monitor licenses and ensure that all content is used in line with correct licensing agreements
  • Ensure that content is built and tagged consistently with SEO best practices while upholding the editorial standards of the brand
  • Monitor the performance of all content with Google analytics and other reporting providers and provide feedback regarding that performance to the Senior Director of Connections and Communications and Executive Staff
  • Respond to messages received through the church website
  • Respond to member inquiries and address issues related to accessing the member section of the church website
  • Manage Constant Contact lists and synchronize them with the church (ACS) database
  • Proactively audit and update website ministry pages on a regular basis so that the site is always current, relevant, and engaging
  • Proactively audit and update social media platforms, promoting timely events and ministries within the life of the church
  • Serve as staff liaison/help desk for those setting up event registrations and/or using auto-responder or a pay wall
  • Manage external delivery of content
  • Work closely with all church staff to provide help and support wherever needed
  • Represent a professional image in dealings with both internal and external contacts

Characteristics and Qualifications:

  • The Digital Specialist must work with Word, Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, Constant Contact, Dreamweaver, HTML/CSS markup, and Google Analytics 
  • Must have proficiency with SMS marketing and social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, YouTube and Vimeo
  • The Digital Specialist should have a functional understanding of content management systems, SEO best practices and one or more years’ experience with WordPress, event setup, Constant Contact, and pay wall integration, as well as a familiarity with online video management and social media strategy


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
