Onward Search is looking for a Digital Personalization Architect to join our east coast client for an onsite direct hire opportunity!

Job Summary

  • As a member of the Digital UX Content team, the Digital Personalization Architect is a driven, solutions-oriented and technologically savvy professional who collaborates with teams to create strategic, personalized digital experiences
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of user- and mobile-first personalized experiences which bridge business goals and user needs, grow customer engagement, target user journeys, and drive conversions
  • Uses data to advise content strategists on personalization opportunities, and monitors performance to inform future strategies and tactics by translating complex information into concise recommendations. Recommends opportunities for using data-driven creative to target audiences and complement advertising strategies
  • Recommends how core web content and content hierarchy may be targeted, curated, adapted, and/or dynamically generated to target specific audiences

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal teams (including UX, digital content, design, advertising, product, and technical teams) to create personalized digital experiences and align on key goals, objectives, and solutions. Requires understanding of target audiences, user journeys, and success metrics to effectively make recommendations for personalized experiences that drive forward organizational goals. Works closely with teams to understand customer and marketing funnels, devise and optimize segmentation strategies, and elaborate personas with personalization signals and triggers. Serves as an advisor to content strategists on personalization strategies, tests, and governance
  • Take a user- and mobile-first approach to target users in their journey to drive and grow conversion. Regularly collaborates with stakeholders across the organization, including UX team members, analytics and insights, product teams, customer service, and donor experience, including dedicated agile teams
  • Regularly consults dashboards, test results, and other analytics/insights tools to inform recommendations, monitor performance, and create segmentation strategies. Works to ensure teams remain nimble by actively communicating insights and opportunities
  • Works with internal teams to create and manage digital testing plans and summaries, uphold testing standards, assist in building/managing tests in testing tools, and ensure alignment with statistical success metrics. Creates deliverables such as test plans and summaries, standards documentation, stakeholder interviews, content briefs, content grids, page tables, user flows, style guides, and governance plans for campaigns and special projects. Makes recommendations based on success/failure of testing efforts
  • Learns and enhances skills in personalization, content management, and testing tools. Javascript, CSS, and HTML skills are a plus to more rapidly set up personalization tests
  • Requires adept translation of personalization findings into action plans and/or standards that are socialized across teams, which can inform future testing strategies and prioritization. Must be able to describe complex issues in a concise, easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability to think several steps ahead in order to strategically plan for optimal ways to leverage personalization for multiple audiences across multiple campaigns and programs
  • Works closely with content strategists and product teams to ensure personalization roadmaps align with business strategies, user-centered approaches, and other product roadmaps
  • Works closely with analytics team and marketing channel owners to ensure targeted orchestration across teams and channels
  • Upholds brand standards throughout all personalization initiatives
  • Understands various digital media, marketing, and promotional channels, such as social and email, and provides recommendations to ensure content orchestration across each

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Interactive/Digital Media, Marketing Technology, Analytics, or Journalism/English
  • 7+ years of hands-on digital experience in either corporate or agency environments.
  • Experience with Adobe Audience and Experience Manager, Adobe Target, IBM Interact, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience in optimizing digital media campaigns (search, display, email) or site optimization using site analytics tools preferred
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, technical and analytical skills, and ability to easily communicate complex ideas simply
  • Must be able to work autonomously and handle multiple projects in a busy work environment
  • Works well with ambiguity and proactively seeks to learn new and better ways of meeting goals
  • Knowledge of digital content strategy, personas, personalization, content marketing, digital marketing channels, and user-centered design required
  • Ability to collaborate with large teams and manage expectations required, and familiarity and/or experience with working on agile teams preferred
  • Javascript, CSS, and HTML skills a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with rapidly changing technology required; willingness to learn new software packages quickly and assist in department training
  • High-level of attention to detail, and adapt well to working on large teams with varied goals
