Our client is looking to bring on a VP/Director of Media to lead strategic media communications planning and investment needs for a designated account; ensuring plans are grounded in consumer insights and deliver on business goals. Lead overall media team assigned to the client’s business. Manage the long-term processes, procedures and strategic development of all media planning and buying efforts for client while setting benchmarks of operational excellence. Guide planning workflow while acting as the senior point of contact for clients.


  • Provides leadership of the client's media planning and investment teams
  • Manages solid client and/or franchisee relationships to sell ideas and contribute to positive agency evaluations more effectively
  • Acquires and demonstrates a complete understanding of the client's business
  • Implements the processes for the management of the strategic and tactical execution of all media platforms across all teams
  • Executes policies and plans of the media planning and buying disciplines
  • Manages and creates platforms for communications across teams and across disciplines
  • Provides the media team with client perspectives, insights, goals, and strategies
  • Provides the media team with senior managements' perspectives, insights, and agency goals
  • Helps evolve recommendations of long-term strategies
  • Reviews all media products and adjusts as necessary to raise the benchmark of excellence for the agency’s media products
  • Provides oversight for all media presentations
  • Keeps current on media trends, especially for digital
  • Responsible for developing the skill and knowledge base of team members; manages, advises, and counsel all members of the media team
  • Motivates team members and encourages innovation and creativity throughout all projects by serving as a role model across all groups/teams
  • Evaluates and communicates media staff development needs to ensure high quality personnel
  • Manages media team budget. Forecasts future budgets to include growth in research and external education


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required
  • 10 to 15 years of media planning and buying experience that includes African American target marketing is required
  • 5 + years of management experience required
  • Strong Mathematical abilities and solid presentation skills are required
  • Above average proficiency with computer applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MediaOcean, Prisma and other computer-based media research and analysis tools
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks are also required
