Onward Search's client, a financial services and real estate lender, is looking for a Director of PR and Corporate Communications with 8-10+ years' of experience to drive consumer and marketplace awareness of the company. This position will lead public relations, media relations and corporate communications overseeing the following key areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the strategic direction and overall PR narrative/initiatives to drive awareness and engagement
  • Integrate with all other marketing channels including a major focus on Social & Influencer campaigns to build a successful cadence
  • Drive continuous coverage in the press through high-touch, high credibility building media relations
  • Oversee corporate communications within and about the company to the trade, press and stakeholders
  • Manage crisis strategy and planning
  • Write regular cadenced (quarterly) and highly strategic plans to ensure a) continued awareness of the company and its core products b) impact and lift to other marketing channels c) integration with social/influencer
  • Drive creative ideation in execution elements like surveys, critical influencers, spokespersons, etc.
  • Build measurable results applicable to PR (brand lift, conversion rates, impact to search)
  • Develop high-quality written materials that convey the company's corporate narrative, including messaging platforms, press releases, blogs, Q&As, speeches, editorials, etc.
  • Run studies and surveys that will provide high impact press
  • Build and maintain a strong network of business partners across all levels of the organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Minimum 10 years public relations/ corporate communications experience.
  • Mix of agency and in-house experience is preferred; bonus if you are a former journalist.
  • Established corporate communications and media relations skills.
  • Must have proven experience managing top-tier press for leading brand(s).
  • Stellar, persuasive written and verbal communications skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of changing media landscape.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in building and managing media programs and teams that deliver measurable results.
  • Experience coaching senior executives.
  • Active presence on social platforms.
  • Understanding of how to use data and research to drive media and public relations efforts.
  • Strong knowledge in technology and financial services industries.
  • Conversant in media measurement and analytics.
