Onward Search is on the hunt for a business savvy Director of Product Design with Direct to Consumer/DTC experience to join the team of a clean energy tech company.

This is an opportunity for someone who is excited about building a team and elevating the product & creative. You will report to the Senior Director of Creative.


  • Hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of two Product Designers
  • Driving the creation of a UI kit
  • Defining and implementing improved UX workstream and process, including research & testing methodologies
  • Defining Product Design principles and metrics
  • Identify Design Systems Manager (DSM) to scale the design practice
  • Leading identity refresh implementation for web & app


  • 7-10 years’ experience in a Product, UX, or Interaction Design role designing for web, mobile, and desktop apps for DTC companies
  • 4-6 years of experience managing design teams as well as experience with recruiting
  • Proven success creating high-end design that also solves a problem and answers business objectives
  • High proficiency in Sketch, OmniGraffle, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, Zeplin, and similar design & prototyping tools
  • Fluent in color theory, typography, flow, and information hierarchy
  • Experience leading research initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with great communication skills
  • Copywriting and Interaction Design skills are a bonus
