Description:

The Email Marketing Strategist/Manager owns the e-mail marketing initiatives that drive revenue and profit growth. Develop strategy and execute e-mail marketing for our brands. Drive year-over-year growth in revenue, customer retention, customer reactivation and new customer acquisition. Maintain customer database, analyze performance and analytics. Create. Strategize. Build. Deploy!

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing promotional e-mail campaigns, automated trigger e-mails, new customer acquisition e-mail campaigns and transactional e-mails that drive YOY revenue growth across our brands through retention, cross-sell, up-sell and new customer acquisition.
  • Develop our e-mail marketing campaign strategy for 3-5 wellness brands and other brands with specific timing, themes, and offers to communicate via e-mail that balance the needs of multiple sales channels and strategic initiatives.
  • Creation of comprehensive email marketing plan for year/season/month/week which supports overall Digital Marketing goals.
  • Provide copy and direction for Graphic Specialist & Product Photographer to ensure e-mail creative enhances the look-and-feel of each individual brand and communicates effectively to achieve its objectives. Copywriters & designers assist in this.
  • Conduct extensive testing of e-mail contact strategy, delivery timing, creative elements, and different offers to build a knowledgebase that drives future improvements.
  • Define targeted list segments to create for e-mail campaigns that maximize campaign results, support testing objectives, and leverage opportunities for more personalized messages and/or customized offers.
  • Plan and implement delivery of targeted offers to reduce attrition and drive purchase of higher margin products.
  • Maximize acquisition of email leads, and new customer conversions.
  • Build our files of marketable e-mail addresses with better internal e-mail capture programs across all channels, third party e-mail acquisition programs, more flexible and targeted e-mail permission options, win-back strategies for opt-outs, and new approaches to improve deliverability.
  • Identify and test new opportunities and better offers for ongoing e-mails triggered by specific events to increase revenue.
  • Communicate e-mail plans and successes internally to CEO, executive and department leaders to ensure coordination across channels as well as appropriate training and incentives for customer service to support specific campaigns and key initiatives.
  • Analyze and report on the results of all e-mail campaigns and test initiatives and provide regular updates on efforts to build our e-mail files.
  • Manage external vendor and marketing agency relationships.
  • Ensuring all email campaigns comply with current email best practice in the industry.
  • Reporting directly to the Director of Ecommerce, and weekly to the CEO on sales revenues and margins generated through email marketing campaigns.
  • Planning and delivering CRM strategies across the company encouraging customer retention and customer loyalty.
  • Manages all aspects of our Lifecycle (trigger) and promotional communication strategy across all channels including email, SMS, direct mail, and mobile.
  • Deciding on the CRM platform structure and architecture ensuring it works seamlessly across the organization and captures all required information at key points in the customer life cycle.
  • Customer Journey Mapping analyzing touch points with the organization and maximizing Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) in selected sales cycle periods. (90 day, 180 day, 365 day)
  • Working closely with all departments to ensure the CRM works effectively for all aspects of the company.
  • Overseeing direct communications with customers through the CRM.
  • Monitor and maximize customer lifetime value strategies ensuring maximum profitability.
  • Ensuring the database is segmented effectively for targeted marketing activities.
  • Overseeing the migration of all direct communications to the most effective mediums based on ROI including email, SMS, direct mail.
  • Developing testing strategies for all aspects of the CRM to ensure the most effective approach for the company and its products.
  • Important KPIs: Email revenue (from new customers and return customers), margin, GMO (gross margin per order), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) at 90 day, 180 day and 365 day sales intervals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in leveraging multiple technologies to drive KPIs.
  • Knowledge of Magento, AgilOne, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data.
  • Past success with Subscription programs (B2C or B2B) a plus.
  • Execute email marketing campaigns for a variety of campaigns
  • Have a passion for bringing strategy to execution working across different digital and marketing and web management groups.
