Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for a Field Engineering Operations Specialist with our client, with a leading San Francisco based audio technology company. As a Field Engineering Operations Specialist, you will assist with the logistics and coordination for training events, including an annual summit this fall. You will also assist with building and implementing processes for planning support and various tasks related to maintaining the Field Technical Community. An ideal candidate will have a technical background, the capacity to learn and understand the underlying technology, a flair for finding creative solutions to a variety of problems, and event planning experience.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity that kicks-off towards the beginning of March.


  • Work independently to coordinate logistics for domestic and international training events for sales and technical support teams
  • Participate in meetings and discussions across departments and with 3rd parties to assist in development of the Field Training curriculum
  • Communicate and work effectively with trainers, trainees, managers, executives, and vendors
  • Design surveys and collect metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of events
  • Conduct analysis of metrics related to training events and activities
  • Facilitate Field Technical Community team-building and social activities; including selecting off-site locations, managing calendar invitations, preparing agendas and meeting materials, and working with regional Administrative Assistants to arrange for catering and other local logistics support
  • Contribute to the maintenance of processes, tools, and templates used by the team
  • Own and maintain the team’s SharePoint and Confluence sites to communicate information such as upcoming training plans, recorded training catalog, global support engineering organization and roles
  • Work proactively to anticipate the needs of field teams and events


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Math, Engineering or similar
  • At least 1 year of experience in an event planning role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals established in a team environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, both functionally and geographically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive strategic conversations and planning
  • High degree of competence with MS Office productivity tools; specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work long hours during events
  • Experience with global and/or remote teams
  • Experience with agile and modern software dev tools (Jira, Aha!, Confluence)
  • Knowledge of or passion/enthusiasm for audio and video entertainment technologies is a significant plus


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
